The
brief history of Wun Chang
The birth of Wun
Chang elementary school
Our school is located in fourth rearranging area in Taichung.
At the beginning of 1981A.D, because of the people who lived
in rearranging area increased a lot, the students increased
a lot, too. Under this circumstance, Beitun elementary
school
couldn’t receive so many students. And Taichung city
education bureau prepared to establish our school to relieve
the overmuch students in Beitun elementary school.
In 1984, according to the Taichung city education bureau’s
direction, we
filled the application to establish this school. Besides, We
had applied to Taichung Land Office for registering the
reserved land of our school in rearranging area to Taichung
City.After solving the problem of school land, we had
$123,540,000 budget to establish our school.
There were three periods for arranging our school house. The
first period was designed by architects CHEN KAI NAN and
CHEN YI JIUN. On 3 Aug, 1986 started to build. Taichung
government required Beitun elementary school principal to be
the preparing director to help to build the school.
The second and the third period engineering was designed by
WANG WEN FANG, and was finished in 1991.
Our school was independent on 1 Aug, 1988, and was named Wun
Chang elementary school.
The first principal
On 1 Aug, 1988 SHR HUNG YUAN was assigned to be our first
principal. He was keen to do a lot of things about operating
a school, such as planning the campus, buying educational
equipment, confirming the school goals of developing,
communicating with local people, arranging parents
association…etc.
In Aug, 1988 the employees of our school arranged everything
all together for preparing to start the school.
On 2 Sep, 1988 under the direction of principal, directors
of academic, student, general affairs, seven teachers who
had been teaching grade 2 received 370 students from Beitun
elementary school by themselves. These students were the
freshman in Wun Chang. Besides, Wun Chang had 800 new
students including those who entered Wun Chang as grade 1
students. Since then, Wun Chang elementary school made itself
responsible for teaching and raising students.
The second principal
On 1 Aug, 1992 CHEN WEN CHING was assigned to be the second
principal.
The third principal
On 1 Aug, 1996 SU SHIUE JEN was assigned to be the third
principal.
The fourth principal
On 1 Aug, 2003 HUANG JEN SHAN was assigned to be the fourth
principal.
The fifth principal
On 1 Aug, 2009 KUO YING SHR was assigned to be the fifth
principal.
The sixth principal
On 1 Aug, 2017 WU JIA SHIAN was assigned to be the sixth
principal until now.
